                            2008-09 FALL / WINTER TRAINING

A unique six week training program is being offered for all soccer players wanting to learn and improve their skills. This winter program is designed to help improve player's technical ability and tactical speed.  It will help develop faster play on the ball, confidence, quick decision making as well as improving tactical awareness.  Also, it will help teach players how to train on their own.  The program is developed to teach individual play and builds up to small group play.  It deals with individual and small group techniques and tactics while encouraging players to play faster, smarter and under pressure.

          Ball mastery and dynamic moves upon receiving  - 1v1 attacking & defending - Foot speed 

       Passing & deception - Change point of attack - Principles of attack & defense - Training ethics

William Bustamante, Owner of B' Elite Player Development & Assistant coach at Rutgers's University will provide all of the technical training.

Times:  Session 1 (U10 - U11) B & G - 6:00 - 7:00 pm

               Session 2 (U12 - U13) B & G - 7:00 - 8:00 pm

               Session 3 (U14 - U16) B & G - 8:00 - 9:00 pm

Rutgers Ranked No. 10 In Latest RPI

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – A 2-0 weekend, highlighted by a 1-0 win over No. 9 West Virginia, put the Rutgers women's soccer team No. 10 in the latest RPI. Rutgers (9-3, 4-1) is the second-highest ranked BIG EAST squad, behind No. 5 Notre Dame. The top ranked team in the RPI is Portland, who defeated Rutgers 1-0 on Sept. 26.

RU is also ranked in multiple national polls, including Soccer America (No. 14), National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas (No. 21), SoccerBuzz (No. 23), Soccer Times (T-No. 23) and Top Drawer Soccer (No. 28). Rutgers is tied at No. 2 in the NSCAA/adidas mid-atlantic region poll

The Scarlet Knights return action to action face BIG EAST foe Louisville on Friday, Oct. 10, for New Jersey Youth Soccer Night. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. Admission is free for all youth and high school soccer players as part of NJYSN.

 

 


 

Women’s Soccer Announces Addition to Coaching Staff

PISCATAWAY, N.J.  – Rutgers women's soccer head coach Glenn Crooks announced the addition of William Bustamente to the coaching staff, where he will serve as assistant coach and Director of Soccer Operations.

William Bustamente "Billy is all about the game and the development of players," said Crooks. "Players respond to his positive instruction and he brings a high level of experience to our coaching staff. I look forward to learning from a man with a vast knowledge of the game developed playing professionally in his native Ecuador and in the states."

Bustamente comes to RU after many years in the business world, including last year with the company he founded, B'Elite Player Development, an organization that provides soccer training services to individuals, groups, teams and clubs throughout New Jersey. Before entering the business world, Bustamente played soccer professionally for six years, first with the New Jersey Dragons of the USISL Professional League from 1992-94, then with Olmedo in the First Division Professional League in Ecuador from 1996-98.

Bustamente attended Montclair State University, where he was a freshman All-American, before transferring to Monmouth University. He was a two-time All-NEC selection with the Hawks, and received his Business Administration degree in 1992. Bustamente attended St. Benedict's Preparatory High School in Newark, N.J., where he was a two-time All-State selection.

The New Jersey native also has coaching experience, most recently with the 2008 State Champion PDA Power U 18 girls and the 2007 State Champion PDA Clash U 11 girls. He coached the Parsippany Storm, an U 15-U 16 girls team, from 2005-06 and the Parsippany Jaguars, an U 13-U 14 girls team, from 2005-07. In 2002-03, Bustamente went on a US Soccer Tour, observing and participating on training methods and philosophies of teams like the Glasgow Rangers, Real Madrid and the Ecuador National Team.
