PITMAN, N.J. - Rutgers University-Newark head coach Bill Bustamante has been selected as the New Jersey Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Coach of the Year by his peers and three Scarlet Raiders were named to the all-conference team.

Bustamante, who engineered a record-setting season by Rutgers-Newark which led to the program's first-ever berth in the NJAC Championship Tournament, is the first Raider women's soccer coach to earn the coach's honor in the 15-yard history of the program. The fifth-year mentor has led the Raiders to a 12-7-2 mark and to a 4-4-1 finish in NJAC competition - both high-water marks for the program. After falling in the NJAC playoffs to Stockton on Saturday, Bustamante's charges are awaiting word on a possible ECAC Metro/Upstate Championship berth which could come on Monday.
